Getting started with Forty-Second Street, step by step
Here's what happens from your first call to kickoff, launch and monthly care. You'll know what to bring, what we need from you and what comes next.

What to expect
What does getting started involve?
Getting started takes three steps: a 30-minute call, a written scope and price, and a kickoff meeting. On the call we learn your goals. Next, you get a written proposal. Once you approve it, we hold the kickoff, collect access to your accounts and start building your site.
1. Book the 30-minute call
Pick a time on the calendar below. Mike asks about your business, your customers and what your website needs to do. It's a real conversation, not a script.
2. Bring three things
Your current website address, any logins you have handy, and two websites you like. They don't have to be in your industry. They just show us your taste.
3. Get a written scope and price
After the call, you get the scope in writing: what we'll build, what's included and the price. Ask questions or change it before you say yes.
4. Kickoff meeting
Once you approve, we meet to go over goals, brand, pages and content. You meet the people doing the work and agree on how you'll give feedback.
5. Launch
We test forms, phone links, mobile layouts and tracking, then point your domain to the new site. You get a walkthrough of how to edit your own content.
6. Monthly care
After launch, you can keep us on for updates, SEO and marketing. Marketing plans are month to month, so you stay because it's working.
How it works
Your access checklist for kickoff
- 1Webflow: if you already have a Webflow site, invite us to your workspace. If you don't, we set up the project and make sure it ends up in an account you control.
- 2Domain registrar: share delegate access if your registrar offers it, or plan to log in with us at launch when the DNS records change.
- 3Google Analytics and Search Console: add our team as users so we can set up tracking and watch search data. You stay the owner of both.
- 4Google Business Profile: add us as a manager so your website link, hours and services match the new site. You stay the primary owner.
- 5Forms and leads: tell us where new leads should go, like an email inbox, a CRM or both, so every form is connected before launch.
Can't find a login? That's normal. Bring what you have and we'll help you track down the rest.

Common questions
Getting started questions, answered.
Who owns my website, domain and content?
You do. Your site, your domain and your content belong to your business. We set things up in accounts you control or can take over at any time. If you ever decide to move on, your website and domain go with you.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract?
Marketing plans are month to month, so you can stop when they stop making sense for your business. Website builds are scoped as a project, with what's included and the price written down before any work starts. You see it all before you decide.
How will we communicate during the project?
You'll have a main point of contact at Forty-Second Street, and the kickoff meeting sets how and when you want updates. Most feedback happens by email or short calls. When pages are ready to review, you get a link to click through them like a customer would.
What should I bring to the first call?
Bring your current website address, if you have one, and two websites you like. Logins help but aren't needed yet. It also helps to know your top services, the area you serve and how most customers find you today. Don't have all of that? Come anyway.
How much does it cost to get started?
The 30-minute call is free, and there's no obligation after it. For the build itself, there are two parts: your Webflow plan is paid to Webflow (webflow.com/pricing); our fee depends on scope and comes in writing after a 30-minute call.
